WHAT IS THE TOTEM SYSTEM?

TOTEM means Total Energy Modulation.

By employing all Inherent Energies on site the efficiency rate is driven to the maximum.

The TOTEM System is a multi- task facility, which imitates the natural cycle.

Technical
The TOTEM System can make a neighborhood self sufficient regarding energy supply, garbage recycling and potable water production.
Non-Technical

The TOTEM System does not only save energy it also secures energy!

PARTS OF THE TOTEM SYSTEM

The TOTEM System consists of two parts:

The Biological Part

a. Bio-Gas facility. (Number 2)

b. Aquatic plants. (Number 13)

c. Compost heap. (Number 14)
The Mechanical Part
a. Gas Turbine. (Number 4)
b. Steam Turbine. (Number 5)
c. Micro Hydro Turbines. (Number7)

d. Wind Turbines. (Number 9)
e. Solar Panels. (Number10)

f. Heat Exchanger and Heat Pumps,
not depicted in the graphics, they are everywhere.

THE PROCESS

All organic garbage, night soil as well as garden and kitchen garbage are fed to the Bio-Gas Plant where in an anaerobic process Methane (CH4 ) gas is produced.

The gas is burned in a Gas turbine.

The waste heat is used to to produce steam, which runs a

Steam turbine.

The steam is cooled off at an elevated point where it turns to water. (Number6)

The water is chemically pure, when minerals are added it becomes potable water. (Number11)

From this point the water flows down and drives a Micro Hydro Turbine.

Solar Panels and Wind Turbines are located all over the site
and work according to weather conditions.

CO₂

The TOTEM System strives to be CO2 neutral with the help of the aquatic plants and the compost heap. (Number 13 + 14)

Part of the Bio-Gas is inevitably CO2.

The compost has the function to fix the CO2 in the soil.

WHERE TO BUILD THE TOTEM SYSTEM?

A TOTEM System helps reduce the running costs of any site where it can be build.

It is possible to build the TOTEM System one part after the other.

In areas where a grid or an infrastructure does not exist it is easier to install a TOTEM System.

But even in the highly developed countries there are enough places where such systems could be build right away.

Schools

In the schools of your neighborhood the mechanical part could be build as a project for the science classes.

Universities

The campuses are usually big enough. The universities have all the know- how in the world and the financing shouldn’t be a problem.

All sort of teaching institutions have to show their responsibilities. After all for life do we learn and not for school!

Military

Again no problem with the place to build it, the financing and the know-how. The military have all the knowledge and manpower to build TOTEM Systems.

The responsibility of the military is to defend the homeland. To preserve the nature of the homeland is exactly that!

Correctional Centers

Also here enough biomass is produced on site and would help by the rehabilitation of the convicts. Experience with a TOTEM System could be a good start into a new life after their release.
