Our collective knowledge increases rapidly. The more we know, the less we seem to think of the consequences of this knowledge and how it is utilized daily. Technology is quintessential nothing but applied knowledge.

We all are constantly confronted with the moral implications of how we apply the knowledge. Although we prefer to look the other way. But regarding the state of earth at the beginning of the 21. century the diagnosis is rather bad. Still we know it, no one can deny the possibility of a Climate Change. There is no prove that it is happening, but there is also no prove that it doesn’t.

We know that Climate Change is probable to happen and that the cause for it is the way technology is utilized. But only very few people think about ways of utilizing different, so called Alternative Technologies. One of the problems of such technologies are, that they don’t cost as much as the technologies used today and therefore the cash return would be less. This would contradict the ideology of Profit Maximization. Good examples are Solar– and Wind Energy. Since the primary energy, wind and solar, does not cost money and the technology involved is cheaper then the technology used today the prices for energy would be considerably lower then today. And so would be the profits!

A technology which does not cost much money to produce and run does not yield as much profit as a technology which cost much money in research and development and production. No matter that this alone demands a lot energy and resources. But it needs even more resources and energy because this products have only a limited life span. They are supposed to hold up for a rather short time and are going to be replaced. The same happens with new technology which becomes outdated in a very short time and will be replaced as well. All this demands resources and energy, with all the negative impact on nature.

Human beings are very self-centered and tend to believe that everything has to revolve around them. Religion supports this tendency by telling us that Godcreated us in his image, that he said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
In the old times, when technology was still primitive and the products were Bio-degradable it was perhaps necessary. But things have changed profoundly in the last 200 years since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution. Ever since our demand for energy and resources have increased substantially and the products are not degrading at all.The life spanof  Plastic is some hundred years.

To the mentioned problems of the existing technology and products the growing demands of a growing World Population must be added.

All this facts are known to all politicians, scientists and the interested public. We know that we are running out of time and still no viable alternative models, such as are introduced in the Nesseq website, are built. This is highly irresponsible and has to change!
