On the 1. of April Nesseq.com published the article Smoking and Climate Change.

And just the other day a Volcano on Iceland erupted disrupting air traffic in northern Europe.

The implications are clear. This is only one Volcano which pollutes the air. As an addition to the pollution human beings are creating.

Among them the cigarette smoke of all the hundreds of millions of Smokers world wide.

Not to mention the tons of used filters, which are highly contaminated with all the chemicals of which the medical doctors are fond to warn us.

With the growth of world population the number of smokers will rise proportionally.ย  And with this the pollution of the air, the pollution of the earth by the filters, the growing garbage of the cigarette packs and the lighters.

Every one who takes the fight against the Climate Change must consider give up the nasty habit of smoking.

Every one having children is obligated to stop smoking. Not just to give a good example for the children but also to watch the quality of the future.

That smoking cigarettes is good for the state should be of no concern to the individual. The state takes it’s share from the price in form of taxes.

The smokers are more liable to become sick because of smoking. This guarantees work for the doctors and the pharmaceutical industry.

And in the end, smokers die younger so the pension funds don’t have to pay longer.

But no one is really that loyal to the state that one is ruining it’s own health for the good of the state.

To stop smoking saves a lot of money, is healthier and better for nature.

Every one can stop smoking (and I know what I’m talking about!) but no one can stop a Volcano from erupting!

      LOL!

This is all nonsense, what the connection between Volcano on Iceland and smoking cigs ? come one dude !!

Yes, smoking is bad for your health, and the growing garbage of the cigarette packs and the lighters, so what about other materials that we use in everyday for food, meds, school, whatever !! i bet your shoes plastic is bad for the environment too ?

    • manx

Yes smoking is bad for the health of your body and bad for the health of nature.
The combined smoke of all the smokers in the world probably accumulates to as much pollution as a medium sized volcano. This is just an educated guess dictated by common sense.
I don’t believe there has been scientific research on this issue.
The point is that if every one stops smoking it would be a small step to fight Climate Change. A little step every smoker can take.
And you are right, the plastic of our shoes also pollute nature. But the difference is, smoking is a harmful luxury and shoes are a necessity.
But this could be the topic of one of the next articles.
      Thank you very much.
