Sir Paul McCartney compares the deniers of Global Warming to the deniers of the Holocaust, so it was reported by the Israeli newspaper Ha’aretz on the 29.06.2010.

Is this comparison appropriate?

It all depends on the historical perspective.

If a staunch Anti-Fascist, after reading Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler, would have warned of the dangers of a future Holocaust, no one would have believed it.

It would have seemed too fantastic!

Morally humanity is faced today with the same dilemma. The Climate Change is a distinct possibility and the the number of victims could make the victims of the Holocaust become a marginal number. The number of the victims will grow according to the number of the world population!

Still many people deny the very possibility that the climate might change. This is in total disregard to Geo-history. The climate is always changing. There is no such a thing as a static situation in nature.

The 12th comment on the dispatch in the Ha’aretz by someone called Hastaroth:

I live in Athens,Greece. It’s almost the end of June, the temperature hasn’t even risen above 30oC at full noon and it’s’ only today that we have clear sky at last after more than 20 days of clouds and rain. And all that in the midst of summer. So much for global warming…… Now what that has to do with the Holocaust and its deniers,I don’t understand.Sir Paul would do better to stick to writing music than meddle with things he doesn’t understand.

The person who calls him/herself Hastaroth admits that something is wrong with the weather in Athens/Greece.

Hastaroth thinks that Global Warming means a continuous rise in the temperature all over the world. This does not have to be so. In some places the temperature might drop. Like it does in Athens.

Perhaps it is only a matter of semantics, if one uses the term Climate Change instead of Global Warming things get clearer right away.

Paul McCartney might not be a scientist but as a human being he can apply common sense and warn humanity of a catastrophe of biblical dimensions. The micro-biologist Frank Fenner warns that humanity might become extinct within a hundred years!

The question is, whether we want to believe that everything is in order and will wake up in the near future to a situation that will be unparalleled in history. Perhaps the German people could use the excuse that they did not no what was going on. Today, in the information age no one can do so.

If there is only a slight change of a Climate Change, everyone of us has to do something against it.

Sir Paul in his website also propagates the Meat Free Monday. At least he is trying to get people to act against the Climate Change!

We, at Nesseq, support such initiatives as can be seen by the post Meat Consumption and Climate Change.

Paul MacCartney is old and follows the blinds. Just ignore him.

  5. Dana Graham says:

Hi Paul, remember your trip to India in 1968 to meet Maharishi Mahesh Yogi?

It only took you 2 months to figure out that he was in it for the money. Maybe you could see a parallel with the AGW-religion, that is kind of the same BS.

  6. Daniel Trueman says:

The Oil companies have fought the environmentalists for decades. It’s well known and well documented. And the oil companies traditionally have stronger ties with the political right whereas the greens do better with the left. That’s one of the reasons many voters never vote Democrat. It’s logical that some people are embarassed by people reminding us of that and so I understand your outrage.

But you could have prevented the BP disaster if you hadn’t allowed your laws to be so easy on big companies, in other words if you’d pushed your Government more to the left. But instead you’re probably voting Republican again because you just don’t wanna know. I’m glad McCartney says what he says, especially during his tour of the American South.

Shame you Max for supporting filthy rich peron like this mccartney.

What is it for you ???

  8. The Fisherman John says:

THE shocking images of oil-covered wildlife and ruined beaches across the Gulf of Mexico have horrified millions.

But Paul McCartney believes the environmental disaster may have a silver lining.

Paul McCartney said: “Sadly we need disasters like this to show people. Some people don’t believe in climate warming – like those who don’t believe there was a Holocaust.” and bla bla bla.

He got enough money, and no worries, and seems disasters for us (poor people) is funny thing for him.

and i say to Paul McCartney, SHuT the F**K UP, and keep counting your money mothferfu**er.

sorry for my language, but filthy rich animals like this Paul McCartney getting on my nerves.

oh yeah, your music sucks anyway.
