The Morality of Climate Change demands that if something terrible as the present Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico will happen again, because of negligence, the people responsible must be held accountable in criminal court.
Even if the accidents are of a lesser degree. In a time where the danger of a changing climate becomes a real possibility other, tighter criterion’s must be applied!
Natures Right to remain complete and undamaged must be regarded higher then the present practice.
When the responsible management gets fired for incompetence at the most, while getting a handsome compensation.
Also the taxes on future profits of those companies should be raised! The money has to be used for Renaturation projects.
(Renaturation is borrowed from German and means something like Reforestation without being limited to forests!)
The political responsible must also be held accountable. In same way as the business men and the engineers, they are the ones to give the necessary permits.
Or are permits not necessary, because the rigs are operating in International Waters and therefore outside national jurisdiction? If this is so, then this is a scandal and one has to ask what the United Nation Organization is doing about it?
Is the right of nature to remain whole regarded as unimportant, as less important as Human Rights? Don’t the politician understand that in the end nature right is actually human rights, because nature provides mankind its livelihood?
And that future generations also have the right to live in an undamaged nature and not in neighborhoods which will resemble stations in outer space!

It’s not easy to go from town to to town and see the level of frustration and the anger of the American people out there, I worked on the water all my life. And I completely empathize with the folks down there having such a hard time. That’s the reason it’s very critical that we bring unity of effort to this entire thing.
Today is day 50 of the disastrous BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and the struggle to cap the flow is still on-going. Even though BP has managed to install a cap that is slowing down the leak by hundreds of thousands of gallons, it is estimated that 29-39 million gallons of oil are already in the waters.
Adding to that the more than 1 million gallons of a controversial chemical dispersant has made the waters of the Gulf a toxic stew. Grim photos of dead fish and oil covered birds have shocked the nation. Now, a statewide health survey in Louisiana has found more than 75 workers have been treated for symptoms related to clean-up efforts.
Only recently has BP begun distributing protective gear against the thick oil fumes. Across the country vigils are being held today to mark the 50th day of the spill. Organized largely by Moveon.org, the vigils will draw attention to the dangers of off-shore oil drilling, and raise awareness of alternative energy sources.
On Friday more than a hundred activists from a number of environmental organizations descended on the Washington DC offices of BP to make a “Citizen’s Arrest” of CEO Tony Hayward. BP has been spending millions in an advertising campaign aimed at salvaging its reputation.
